Postcards arrived from mysterious corners of the world, a heron claimed Miller's Pond with the stubbornness of a town council member, and yes—the lights flickered for three whole seconds, which Pearl is still investigating with the intensity of a woman who has seen everything and believes nothing without evidence. Through it all, our Truman found himself at the center of it all: a witness to Norma's weather wager, a recipient of a puzzling postcard in unfamiliar handwriting, and still very much the earnest heart of this little town. By evening, the rain had cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly timed it might have been scheduled—which, of course, it wasn't. Or was it?
