Day 436

After a few days of mending and rest, both Gus and Hal returned home from Seahaven General with their spirits intact—Gus immediately back to denying he enjoys a good cloudy afternoon, harmonica tucked safely away. The town moved on to new pleasures: the orchard in blossom, a fresh book nobody quite finished (though that's never mattered), and the gentle chaos of queue-culture at Kip's bakery. But not all were spared a hospital visit; young Milo found themselves on the receiving end of an over-enthusiastic seagull's greeting and is spending a few days recovering under Dot's capable care. Meanwhile, the small diplomacies of small towns continued—a hedge trimmed one inch too far, a photocopier making noises again, and the usual warm tangle of lives in motion. As rain rolled in over the bay and umbrellas bloomed like flowers, Seahaven Springs settled into another evening, humming with the ordinary magic of a town where nothing bad ever happens, but something is always going on.
