Day 446 brought the kind of Friday evening that Seahaven Springs does best: the rain cleared to reveal a rainbow that seemed painted just for them, the community orchard exploded into blossom, and half the town found reasons to sit outside and enjoy the warmth. At The Anchor, the night unfolded in that peculiar way it does when everyone's in a good mood—Bev reached the storytelling stage, Rex polished his good glasses and spun increasingly creative tales about boats, and somewhere near the dartboard Marla conducted an imaginary orchestra while the mystery of the traveling garden gnome continued to baffle and delight. June closed her notebook on one small mystery satisfied, and as the evening deepened, the chairs at The Anchor were formally thanked for their service by both Dot and June, which seemed to settle something warm in the room. Nothing bad happened in Seahaven Springs, which is to say everything was exactly right.
