Day 4862
Day 4862 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. The Bakery's flour delivery has not arrived. Kip is rationing, with the grim dignity of a man rationing something he baked himself. Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill. Silas Tidewater was born to Bram Tidewater and Hattie Whitlow. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Gull Grey Question runs into trouble. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

00:00The Bakery's flour delivery has not arrived. Kip is rationing, with the grim dignity of a man rationing something he baked himself.
00:00Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill.
09:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
09:33Kip Doyle's evening happened, ran long, and is still being talked about.
09:34Dell Tanner's evening happened, ran long, and is still being talked about.
09:45Elaine Whitlow has an answer, of a sort, and has decided it will do.
10:00Perry Gorse nearly answered Truman Beaumont early, and turned it into a cough.
11:20Something in town needs repainting, and gull grey has been proposed.
12:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
12:00Perry Gorse called Truman Beaumont by the wrong name mid-sentence, then laughed a little too quickly.
13:00The town ladder is on its fourth borrower this week and nobody is sure who owns it.
14:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
16:00Nothing whatsoever is happening in Seahaven Springs. Cole Whitlow appears to be enjoying it.
17:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
18:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
19:42Fern Gorse has closed the notebook on one small Seahaven mystery, satisfied for now.

20:13Bev Tanner and Linus Tidewater kept their word and finished what they started.
21:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
22:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
22:03Dell Tanner has proposed a toast to the concept of Thursdays.
22:04Abel Callahan is negotiating with a bar stool and appears to be losing.
22:18Mabel Tidewater has begun a heartfelt speech with no clear subject.
22:24Perry Gorse is teaching the room a song that appears to have no chorus.
