Day 499
What a day in Seahaven Springs! Hal returned from the hospital hale and hearty just as the fog rolled in with theatrical precision, and the whole town seemed to synchronize its umbrellas against the rain like a well-rehearsed dance. Dr. Pratt is absolutely delighted with young Fern's mystery rash—the sort of minor ailment that gives a doctor purpose—while Elaine's been gathering stories like wildflowers, and somehow there's a new chair at The Anchor that nobody's quite talking about yet. Meanwhile, Truman's been singing along to his favorite song in the kitchen, blissfully unaware that for one breathless moment, his very location was announced to the world on the radio—a moment the rest of us will likely pretend never happened. Tomorrow, the town will have opinions about that freshly painted front door, and life in Seahaven Springs will go on, steady as the tide and twice as mysterious.

What was announced
00:00Hal Brody has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain.
03:00Clouds drift in over the bay. Gus pretends not to enjoy it.
05:00Fog has come in off the bay and stopped, very precisely, at the edge of town.
07:00The queue at the bakery has reached the door. Nobody minds; it is that kind of queue.
08:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
08:12Elaine Whitlow has turned practising stories worth telling into a real part of life.
11:00Milo Ferris is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
11:00For four seconds Truman Beaumont's radio carried a voice describing exactly where Truman Beaumont was standing.

12:00Somebody has repainted their front door overnight. Opinions are being gathered.
12:00Fern Gorse has come down with a mystery rash Dr. Pratt is thoroughly enjoying. Dr. Pratt is keeping them in for observation.
13:00Dot Ferris has arrived at the store without the list. This has happened before.
13:32Edie Gorse and Elaine Whitlow have stopped leaving their friendship to chance.
13:44Elaine Whitlow arrives with a net, a bucket, and a theory nobody asked for.
14:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
15:48June Ellery and Flo Tidewater kept their word and finished what they started.
18:00There is one more chair at The Anchor than there was yesterday. Rex has not mentioned it.
22:21Milo Ferris has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
22:32Flo Tidewater is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
