Day 512
Day 512 brought the gentle chaos that Seahaven Springs does so well: umbrellas bloomed like flowers as the rain swept through, a heron claimed Miller's Pond as its personal kingdom, and somehow the town ladder made its fourth journey in a week—nobody quite sure who borrowed it or when. Flo Tidewater, fresh from her discharge at Seahaven General, found her way to The Anchor's piano where she played with the kind of enthusiasm that only the entirely untrained possess, while Truman Beaumont sang badly along to his favourite song in a kitchen miles away, perfectly content. The Great Seahaven Bake-Off was announced and committees formed before the ink could dry, the queue at Kip's bakery stretched out the door in that patient, community sort of way, and by evening the rain had cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly positioned it seemed almost choreographed. In Seahaven Springs, nothing bad happens—but everything is always, wonderfully, happening.

What was announced
00:00Flo Tidewater has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain.
07:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
08:00She apologised to Truman Beaumont for something he has no memory of, and could not explain what she meant.
09:00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
09:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
10:26Town hall announces the Great Seahaven Bake-Off. Committees form instantly.
11:00The queue at the bakery has reached the door. Nobody minds; it is that kind of queue.
12:00The town ladder is on its fourth borrower this week and nobody is sure who owns it.
13:00Abel Callahan is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
14:00There is one more chair at The Anchor than there was yesterday. Rex has not mentioned it.
15:00A form has been filed correctly at the first attempt. Town Hall is quietly jubilant.
16:00Nothing whatsoever is happening in Seahaven Springs. Ewan Callahan appears to be enjoying it.
17:00A hedge has been trimmed one inch past a boundary. Diplomacy is under way.
18:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
19:32Rex Callahan and Milo Ferris kept their word and finished what they started.
22:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
22:21The Anchor's piano is being played by Flo Tidewater, who cannot play piano.
22:24Rex has quietly moved Milo Ferris onto the water. Milo Ferris has not noticed.
22:58Sal Marino has become extremely confident about lighthouse engineering.
22:58Fern Gorse has reached the storytelling stage at The Anchor.
