Gus watched the gulls and pretended the weather didn't delight him, while a new postcard found its way to Truman's collection, and someone's front door appeared freshly painted overnight, already the subject of warm speculation. By evening, the clouds had cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly placed it seemed almost planned, and somewhere down at the dock, a harmonica played a few uncertain notes—though Gus, when asked, knew absolutely nothing about it.
