What a day it's been in Seahaven Springs—the Great Bake-Off came and went like a lovely dream, the fog rolled in mysterious and thick, and by evening The Anchor was full of the kind of warmth that happens when a whole town gathers in one place. There were gentle words and gentle disagreements, a piano played by hands that had no business playing it, and by night's end Sheriff Brody was tucking Fern Gorse into a cell with the kind of care you'd give a tired friend. Tomorrow the fog will lift, as all things do, and Seahaven Springs will wake to find itself exactly as it should be: a little confused, a little in love, and utterly itself.
