Day 519 brought us a parade of small weathers and smaller mysteries—fog lifting, rain arriving with theatrical timing, a rainbow earning its applause—while the town's routines hummed along beneath it all. Truman sat dutifully at his desk under Bev's watchful eye, and June found herself bested by a gull at the dock, which felt about right. The clocks disagreed, the umbrellas synchronized themselves like they'd rehearsed, and somewhere between the puddles and the clearing sky, Norma and Gus made good on their promises, Dot was laughing harder these days, and the light over the bay turned almost unreasonably kind. Even Sal forgot which road his nightcap was meant for, but that's Sal—always a step behind his own evening, always exactly where he needs to be.
