Day 5345
Day 5345 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. The tide is out further than usual. Hal Brody has gone to look at what it left behind. Fog has come in off the bay and stopped, very precisely, at the edge of town. Mabel Tidewater's small gathering has come together, with just enough chairs and no speeches. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Word of an Inspection takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
