Day 5461
Day 5461 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. An unclaimed umbrella has been standing by the café door for three days. The lights of Seahaven Springs flickered for exactly three seconds. The town clock is unbothered. Sal Marino is in Seahaven General after they came down awkwardly off the orchard ladder. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Whose Ladder Is This reaches its conclusion. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

00:00An unclaimed umbrella has been standing by the café door for three days.
07:00The lights of Seahaven Springs flickered for exactly three seconds. The town clock is unbothered.
08:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
10:00The town cat is asleep on the Town Hall steps. Municipal business reroutes around it.
11:00The rain has driven everyone indoors, and the café is doing the best trade of the week.
11:30The ladder is traced through four households, none of whom own it.
12:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
13:00The tide is out further than usual. Ike Tidewater has gone to look at what it left behind.
13:06Milo Ferris and Iris Brody have cleared the air over a quiet chat.

15:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
15:00Truman Beaumont's radio caught the control room again. Dell Tanner turned the dial and talked loudly about the weather.
18:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
19:00Ned Ferris fumbled Truman Beaumont's name and recovered it smoothly. Nobody breathed.
19:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
19:35Abel Callahan and Lark Ferris have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things.
20:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
20:58Bram Tidewater and Hattie Whitlow kept their word and finished what they started.
22:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
