Day 549

Day 549 brought all the weather Seahaven Springs could muster—rain and rainbows in their turn, fog rolling in like a curtain, and through it all, the small wonders that make this town what it is: Kip and Dot stepping out together at last, a kite caught in the old park tree waiting for its committee, and somewhere down by the dock, Gus playing harmonica he claims he can't play. The sun broke through precisely on cue, as it always does, and the townsfolk returned to their benches and their ordinary extraordinary lives, one puddle, one rainbow, and one mysterious repainted door at a time.
