Day 5540
Day 5540 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory. Iris Brody and Marla Finch no longer need a reason to call round. The queue at the bakery has reached the door. Nobody minds; it is that kind of queue. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Something in the Pond takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
