Day 5834
Day 5834 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. An unclaimed umbrella has been standing by the café door for three days. Bram Tidewater has hosted the thing they kept meaning to host. Nell Tidewater and Mabel Tidewater have got into the habit of each other. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Sea Glass Season runs into trouble. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
