Day 670

What a day in Seahaven Springs! The bakery queue stretched to the door (as it does when the pastries are particularly inspired), and Truman spent a good portion of his morning wrestling with the photocopier at the office—though his real passion today seemed to be a napkin-based theory about time and broth that made the rounds from the dock to the park, charming June Ellery despite her best efforts at skepticism. By evening, The Anchor was full of the kind of warmth that comes from old friendships and new chairs, until a spirited disagreement between Rex and Edie about fishing records got a touch too lively—but Sheriff Brody handled it with his usual grace, offering Rex a quiet night in the cells where he could reflect on the matter. Tomorrow the town will wake, the sun will break through right on cue, and everything will settle back into its gentle rhythm.
