Day 70
Day 70 brought the sweetest of arrivals: little Milo Ferris made his entrance into Seahaven Springs, and with him came the particular joy that only a new baby can bring to a small town. The day unfolded in that gentle, unhurried way our town does best—clouds gathered over the bay while Gus pretended not to find them lovely, the café gathered for blind tastings that proved nothing but tasted wonderful, and Sunday supper drew folks toward The Salty Gull as the evening light turned almost impossibly golden. Somewhere in town, someone played eight familiar bars of piano again, and Seahaven Springs simply carried on, full of small moments and the kind of quiet contentment that Pearl Gorse knows how to recognize. Tomorrow will bring its own gentle surprises, but tonight, our town is simply grateful for new beginnings and the people we love around us.

There you are, little one. Come see what I've got.★
Bev! Come in, come in. I was just putting the kettle on.★
Walt. Didn't expect to see you away from the bench today.★
Rex, two coffees please. And whatever Marla's got fresh today.
Morning, Rex. Nets are holding. Weather's turning though.
Pearl, I brought you something. Those dahlias you mentioned — I propagated three starts for you.
Marla. Didn't expect to see you down here. Thought you'd be at the café.
Walt! I was just thinking of you both. How is Pearl feeling with the cloudy weather?
The park's looking grey today, but the seedlings don't seem to mind. They're pushing through anyway.
Walt. Didn't expect to find you here on a cloudy day. Usually you're in the park with the pigeons.
Marla. Thought I'd grab something before the lunch rush at the office.
