Day 71
What a day in Seahaven Springs! The fog rolled in like a curtain at the edge of town, only to part for a sun-bright morning and a bakery queue that stretched out the door with nobody minding one bit. Truman stopped by to ask Kip about pie while Kip fretted over ovens, the photocopier at Seahaven Mutual made its usual complaint until Gus was called to the rescue, and up at Town Hall, June stamped a perfectly-filed form with the quiet jubilation of a woman who knows how rare such things are. The weather turned theatrical—rain came and went, umbrellas deployed like clockwork, a rainbow painted itself across the sky at just the right angle—and through it all, the town gathered as it always does: two new babies celebrated at the café, a fish pie question settled by nothing more than a beer mat, Sal spinning stories at The Anchor while Rex conducted invisible symphonies near the dartboard, and Walt declaring twice over that this is simply the finest town in the world. And perhaps he's right.

What was said
Norma! I was hoping to catch you. The café's so warm today—I swear I can smell the tomato soup from the street.
Boss! Got a question—should I expand to a second oven or am I overthinking this?★
The usual today, Pearl? Turkey and rye, heavy on the mustard?★
Norma! Thought I'd find you here. Sunny day like this, you're usually at the store.
Rain's coming in sideways today. You shouldn't be out here on the dock.
Gus. Didn't expect to find you down here in the rain.
There's my girl. Listening to that rain tap the window, aren't you?
June. Didn't expect to see you down here in the rain.
Rex, I've got to ask you something that's been eating at me all week. That fish pie—the one that tastes like being nine years old—★
Friend Rex, I've been meaning to ask you something. Quiet advice, if you don't mind.
