The town's modest electrical system took a three-second bow, seagulls continued their relentless war on Dr. Pratt's lunch arrangements, and somewhere between the bakery's intoxicating aroma and a kite wrapped around the park's oldest oak, a rainbow emerged at such a perfectly timed angle that even the most skeptical viewer might wonder if someone up in the control room had a hand in it. By evening, as umbrellas bloomed across Main Street and a familiar harmonica drifted from the dock—which Gus, bless him, will deny until his dying day—Seahaven Springs had given us exactly what it always does: nothing truly wrong, everything gently amiss, and everyone exactly where they needed to be.
