Day 141

What a day in Seahaven Springs! The skies wept and cleared with dramatic flair, the Great Kite-Flying Rivalry concluded in a tie—assuring us all of a rematch next season—and Rex Callahan's heroic pursuit of a runaway shopping trolley ended with a twisted ankle and a stay at Seahaven General, where Dot and Dr. Pratt will surely keep him in good spirits. A seagull made off with Elaine's sandwich once more, a hedge dispute required the delicate touch of small-town diplomacy, and somewhere down by the dock, Gus swears he wasn't the one playing that wistful harmonica music. As the sun broke through one final time over the bay, Seahaven Springs settled into evening, warm and whole, with everything—and everyone—exactly where they ought to be.
