Day 1638
What a day Seahaven Springs has had! A mysterious rash sent dear Elaine to Seahaven General for observation—Dot's already fussing over her with characteristic efficiency—while the town gathered at The Salty Gull for Sunday supper, trading speculation over their seafood about what could have caught their beloved gardener. The bakery queue reached the door and nobody minded one bit, the rain came and went like clockwork, and a rainbow arrived almost too perfectly for an ordinary Sunday. As the day wound down, the traveling garden gnome had moved again (nobody confessing, as always), and somewhere in town, someone practiced the same eight bars of piano one more time—a little song the whole town has learned to love. Tomorrow, Dot will have answers about Elaine, and life in our little bay-side haven will turn another gentle page.
