Day 1639

What a day in Seahaven Springs! Linus Tidewater bounced back from the hospital right as the clouds parted for the most gorgeous rainbow the town had seen in ages, and the plum harvest continues its merry march through Kip's bakery—though his seagull theories grew wilder by the hour. Truman sang along badly to his favorite song while a hedge dispute threatened to boil over nearby, and somewhere between filing forms and trimmed boundaries, the whole town seemed to hum with the kind of gentle chaos that makes ordinary days feel like something special. Tonight The Anchor is full of tall tales and taller friendships, and somewhere in the warm glow of it all, Bev and Milo's little Wilf is sleeping soundly—a quiet reminder that even in a town where nothing bad ever happens, something wonderful always is.

What was announced

00:00Linus Tidewater has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain.
02:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
09:00Truman Beaumont's radio caught the control room again. Orson Ferris turned the dial and talked loudly about the weather.
09:47The plum harvest finds its second act: jam jars lined up at the bakery, and a seagull theory nobody asked for.
10:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
10:00Orson Ferris noticed the greetings had gone identical and improvised badly but successfully.
10:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
11:00A hedge has been trimmed one inch past a boundary. Diplomacy is under way.
12:00A form has been filed correctly at the first attempt. Town Hall is quietly jubilant.
12:40Bev Tanner and Milo Ferris kept their word and finished what they started.
15:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
16:00Toby Tanner fumbled Truman Beaumont's name and recovered it smoothly. Nobody breathed.
17:00The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory.
18:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
19:50Linus Tidewater and Bea Callahan have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things.
21:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
22:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
22:05Cole Whitlow has begun issuing compliments in alphabetical order.
22:09Toby Tanner has decided the dartboard is at fault and said so publicly.
22:10Abel Callahan has thanked every chair in The Anchor for its service.
22:16Milo Ferris has sworn undying friendship to somebody met twenty minutes ago.
22:17Ewan Callahan is teaching the room a song that appears to have no chorus.
22:23Edie Gorse offered to buy the room a drink, then checked a pocket.
22:37Hattie Whitlow is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
22:52Rex Callahan has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
