Day 1765

What a day it's been in Seahaven Springs! Ewan Callahan stepped out of Seahaven General with a spring in his step, while the town's eternal weather theatre played out its usual repertoire—clouds, sun, rain, and a rainbow so perfectly framed it seemed almost choreographed. A kite tangled itself in the park tree and sparked the formation of what may well become an official committee, while elsewhere, a hedge trimming dispute threatened to unravel the delicate diplomacy of property lines. By evening, Marla kept the Sunrise Café burning late for a slow, sweet dinner, Elaine's cottage glowed with tea and theorizing, and down at The Anchor, the usual philosophers debated everything from tides to Thursdays, each explaining it differently than the last. Tomorrow, perhaps, someone will finally retrieve that kite—or perhaps Hal will stop wondering about it first, which amounts to much the same thing.
