Day 22
What a day Seahaven Springs has given us! A sore back brought Truman to Seahaven General, where Dr. Pratt fussed and Nurse Dot kept everything running smoothly, while an old friend sat with our earnest hero to ease his worries. The rain came and went like clockwork, leaving behind a rainbow so perfect it seemed almost choreographed, and somewhere in the soft evening light, that mysterious garden gnome turned up on yet another porch—still nobody's confession, still everybody's favorite mystery. Even as Truman rested in his hospital bed, the town carried on: a postcard arrived for Rex with questions written all over it, the bakery sign had a peculiar flicker, and Gus watched the clouds roll in while pretending the whole thing bored him terribly. Tonight, Seahaven Springs settles into the gentle rhythm of rain once more, and somewhere in the warm hum of the hospital ward, our insurance man sleeps the sleep of the cared-for.
