Day 341

What a day in Seahaven Springs! The sky played its moods—clouds drifting in like old friends, rain arriving with perfect timing, and a rainbow so picturesque it seemed almost unfair. Half the town found reasons to sit outside by evening, and the bakery's aroma had already done its work on productivity hours before. There were kites to rescue and committees to form, puddles to measure, and plenty of small joys: Truman received a lighthouse postcard (of course he did), June finally bought that painting they'd been saving for, and all around town, the couples who've learned to stop leaving things to chance—Hal and Rex, Norma and Marla, and all the rest—were simply glad to be exactly where they were. Seahaven Springs was, as several residents declared independently, the finest town in the world, and on a night like this, who could possibly argue?
