Day 4

What a day it was in Seahaven Springs—mysterious postcards, mysterious rashes, and one mysterious garden gnome making the rounds like a traveling salesman of its own! Marla's at the hospital under Dr. Pratt's watchful eye (who's never been happier), though a certain dock worker has been finding excuses to walk by with flowers he won't admit he picked himself. Meanwhile, the rain came and went like a visiting relative, leaving behind the sort of rainbow that makes you believe in the goodness of small towns, and even old Gus—who'd rather eat nails than admit he enjoys anything—declared it the finest place in the world. Twice. Tomorrow, the real question isn't what form June can't find, or which porch the gnome will call home next, but whether Gus will keep pretending that harmonica music nobody heard came from anywhere but his own pocket.
