Day 5
What a day in Seahaven Springs! Marla bounced back from the hospital with newfound opinions about lighthouse design, just in time to enjoy an evening stroll with a surprisingly content Gus Tidewater—clouds and all. Meanwhile, poor Elaine caught the sniffles and found herself under Dr. Pratt's watchful eye at Seahaven General, though Kip's visit promised to lift her spirits, and a kite lodged itself in the park tree like a puzzle waiting for the town's inevitable committee to solve it. As Friday evening settled in at The Anchor and the sun made its punctual exit over the bay, Bev was already plotting revenge against the seagull that made off with her sandwich, Norma forgot which direction home was, and the traveling garden gnome continued its mysterious journey through town—a small mystery that kept everyone happily guessing.

Norma, I hope you don't mind — I'm filing the town records, and I noticed something.★
Marla's got the coffee on, but I wanted to catch you before the lunch rush. How's the kitchen holding up?★
Boss, boss, you gotta hear this — I saw Gus and Marla leaving The Salty Gull together last night, and I'm telling you, that wasn't a business meeting.★
Morning, Marla. You look like you've got something on your mind again.
Bev. Didn't expect to see you this far from the filing cabinets.
Boss! They told me you were in here. Brought you a cinnamon bun from this morning — well, technically yesterday morning, but I've been holding it hostage.
Marla. Thought you might be here. How're you feeling?
