Day 4229
Day 4229 in Seahaven Springs, under rainy skies. Mabel Tidewater has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain. Alma Callahan and Bram Tidewater have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things. Edie Gorse is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Word of an Inspection runs into trouble. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

00:00Mabel Tidewater has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain.
03:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
07:29Alma Callahan and Bram Tidewater have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things.
08:00The Bakery's fresh bread smell has reached the town square. Productivity plummets.
08:00Hattie Whitlow called Truman Beaumont by the wrong name mid-sentence, then laughed a little too quickly.
08:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
09:00The morning mail has arrived. Lark Ferris received a mysterious postcard.
10:00Edie Gorse is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
11:09A rumour goes round that somebody official will be inspecting something, soon.
12:00The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory.
12:00Perry Gorse noticed the greetings had gone identical and improvised badly but successfully.
13:00Alma Callahan has received a postcard from somewhere far away. The handwriting is unfamiliar.
14:00Hattie Whitlow and Bram Tidewater have stopped leaving their friendship to chance.
14:25Iris Brody and Marla Finch no longer need a reason to call round.
15:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
15:00Dell Tanner answered a question Truman Beaumont had not asked out loud.
15:01Whatever Jonah Ferris and Dot Ferris were circling, they have landed on it.
17:00The traveling garden gnome has been spotted on a new porch. Nobody admits to moving it.
18:00For four seconds Truman Beaumont's radio carried a voice describing exactly where Truman Beaumont was standing.
19:00The bakery sign flickered and, for a moment, read a different name entirely.
20:00Truman Beaumont has been standing near a neighbour for slightly longer than the conversation warranted.
21:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
21:55Ned Ferris is explaining boats to anyone who will listen down at The Anchor.
22:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
22:01Alma Callahan has explained the tides three times, differently each time.
22:04Flo Ferris has begun a heartfelt speech with no clear subject.
22:08Edie Gorse has thanked every chair in The Anchor for its service.
22:08Ike Tidewater has explained the tides three times, differently each time.
22:12Iris Brody has thanked every chair in The Anchor for its service.
22:22Hattie Whitlow has proposed a toast to the concept of Thursdays.
23:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
