Day 4957
Day 4957 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. Dot Ferris is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill. The queue at the bakery has reached the door. Nobody minds; it is that kind of queue. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Lighthouse Lighting Approaches runs into trouble. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
