Day 503
What a day Seahaven Springs has had! Kip's flour troubles turned the whole town into pilgrims seeking that incomparable bakery smell, while a missing box of festival bunting sent June's committee into their finest organized panic. Down at the hospital, Dr. Pratt is positively delighted to have Gus under observation for a mystery rash, and somewhere in town, someone's eight bars of piano have become a gentle mystery all their own. As the rain cleared to reveal that cinematic rainbow, the seagulls stole another sandwich, the heron settled in at Miller's Pond like it owned the place, and Bev discovered her shoreline sketches are becoming something real—just another evening in a town where small mysteries solve themselves and the ordinary is never quite enough to look away from.

What was announced
00The Bakery's flour delivery has not arrived. Kip is rationing, with the grim dignity of a man rationing something he baked himself.
00The Bakery's fresh bread smell has reached the town square. Productivity plummets.
47Norma Quist and Marla Finch have stopped leaving their friendship to chance.
17Gus Tidewater has closed the notebook on one small Seahaven mystery, satisfied for now.
00The morning mail has arrived. Elaine Whitlow received a mysterious postcard.
37Hal Brody has closed the notebook on one small Seahaven mystery, satisfied for now.
00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
29A box of festival bunting has vanished, and the committee is in a very polite panic.
00Gus Tidewater has come down with a mystery rash Dr. Pratt is thoroughly enjoying. Dr. Pratt is keeping them in for observation.
00Business is slow enough that Norma Quist has been sent home early. Nobody argues.
21Bev Tanner has turned sketching the shoreline into a real part of life.
00The rain has driven everyone indoors, and the café is doing the best trade of the week.
00A seagull has stolen Sal Marino's sandwich near the dock. Again.
00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
58Edie Gorse and Gus Tidewater kept their word and finished what they started.
00Someone is practising the same eight bars of piano again. The town has grown fond of them.
00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
00Clouds drift in over the bay. Gus pretends not to enjoy it.
