Day 508 brought the kind of gentle magic Seahaven Springs does so well: a rainbow arced over town just as the rain cleared, and half the residents found reasons to sit outside and watch the world turn warm again. There were small mysteries afoot—a traveling gnome with no confessed movers, a fog that stopped at town's edge as if it had manners, and Norma Quist receiving a postcard that nobody could quite identify—but these are the puzzles that keep a town like this content, especially when the café queue stretches to the door and everyone's too cheerful to mind. And while Edie Gorse spends a few days at Seahaven General nursing a twisted ankle from a runaway trolley, the town has already begun its gentle fussing, and even the heron at Miller's Pond seems in no hurry to leave. Nothing bad happened today, as is the way of things here—but something was always, quietly, going on.
